【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardcontainsrecommendationsandguidancefortheapplicationofreinforcementtechniquestosoils,asfillorinsitu,andtootherfills.Thestandardiswritteninalimitstateformatandguidelinesareprovidedintermsofpartialmaterialfactorsandloadfactorsforvariousapplicationsanddesignlives.ThiscodeistobereadinconjunctionwithBSEN1997-1:2004,NAtoBSEN1997-1:2004andBSEN14475:2006.BSEN1997-1:2004doesnotcoverthedesignandexecutionofreinforcedsoilstructures.ThevaluesofpartialfactorsandloadfactorsgiveninBSEN1997-1:2004havenotbeencalibratedforreinforcedsoilstructures.BSEN1997-1:2004isnotforuseinthedesignandexecutionofreinforcedsoil.ThepartialfactorssetoutinBS8006-1cannotbereplacedbysimilarfactorsinBSEN1997-1:2004.Thecodeisdividedintoeightsections.Section1identifiesthescope,definitionsandnotationofthecode.Section2describestheconceptsandfundamentalprinciplesofreinforcedsoil.Section3providesrecommendationsfortheuseofmaterialswhereexistingstandardsareavailable.WherematerialsareusedthatarenotcoveredbyexistingstandardsorwhereknownmaterialsaretobeusedinwaysnotcoveredbyexistingstandardsSection4givesrecommendationsforthetestingandapprovalofsuchmaterials.Sections5to8relatetodesign,constructionandmaintenanceofwallsandabutments,slopesandfoundations.Theyincludespecificrecommendationsforcharacterizationofthesoilstobeusedandotherfactorsaffectingthedesignandperformanceofthestructures.Emphasisisplacedonqualitycontrolbothwithregardtotheconsistencyofthepropertiesofthefillandreinforcingmaterialsandtothehandlingofthematerialsonsite.Inlinewithcurrentpracticethedesignmethodsdescribedarebasedonlimitstateprinciples.Thepartialfactorsincludedarebasedonpreviousexperienceandhavebeencalibratedtomaintainconsistencywithcurrentpractice.Theclausesaresupplementedbyasubstantiallistofreferencestoenabletheusertoconsideringreaterdepththeapplicationsofthetechnique.
