【摘要】:Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcoversaprocedureforleachingcushioningmaterialswithwateranddeterminingchangesintwospecificfire-test-responsecharacteristics:()thesurfaceflammability,perTestMethodD3675and()thespecificopticaldensityofsmokegenerated,perTestMethodE662.Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafirehazardorfireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorsthatarepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardorfireriskofaparticularenduse.Inviewofthewidevariationinpotentialserviceconditions,itislikelythatresultsofthisleachingtestwillnotgiveadirectcorrelationwithserviceperformanceforallapplications.However,thetestmethodyieldscomparativedataonwhichtobasejudgmentsastoexpectedserviceofcushioningmaterialsandisusefulinresearchanddevelopmentwork.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
